Packing for some people is very personal. Many people need to travel with certain items or they cannot enjoy their trip. Others can seem to get by on nothing but a few changes of clothing. In part it will depend on your destination. You will need to find out if the place that you are going has irons available, curling irons, hair dryers, and other items that make your travel easier. Finding a place that can supply you with some of the bulkier items can clear up valuable space in your luggage.

When the price of fuel increased and hit a major high in 2008 airlines started charging customers for their second bag. They used to only charge for baggage after the second bag but fuel prices forced them to change that policy. Many frequent travelers found themselves paying to take items that they had always taken on their trips.

To some it is just the price that you pay to have all of the things that you want. To others it is a pain in the rear that does not deserve a conversation. They will just take one bag, end of story. Paying for your luggage when you are paying to fly the airplane seems a little out there, but if luggage is not regulated then airlines will spend more in fuel then they receive in fares. Another option is that they can just raise everyone’s fare.

When you think about that then you might think that not everyone carries, all that luggage. Or that you might rather pay for one extra bag then fork out another 40 dollars per passenger on your family vacation. When it comes down to it this is a decision that cannot be made by someone else, it is your personal decision to pack light or pay extra.
